Spend two days learning the meditative art of Shibori using indigo dye.
Detailed Description
· 10am – 4pm on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 August 2026
· Max 8 per class (should the numbers not be met, we will look at rescheduling to a new date)
Over the two days you will be introduced to dyeing using both resists, tying and wrapping and the art of "Nui" (stitched) Shibori. With its distinctive blue colouration, you will use indigo dye to create formal and more unstructured patterns and repeats on a selection of natural fabrics.
You will leave with lots of samples of a useful size to use in later projects, a handout to cement learning and encourage further experimentation and references to aid your research of this beautiful and pleasing dye technique.
