Day Course: Gilding on Leather

Bring your creativity and take part in this one-day course, run in partnership with the Leather Conservation Centre of Northampton. 

Gilding on leather is a traditional skill that has been around since the early centuries AD and used to decorate a variety of objects, from clothing and footwear to furniture and bookbinding. This practical course is suitable for all and will teach the basics of gilding whilst providing hands-on learning with professionals in the industry.

All materials as well as lunch and refreshments are included in the price. 

Participants will also have the opportunity for a private viewing of the new ARTIFACTSLIVE: A Legacy in Leather exhibition in the DMU Musuem featuring original objects from the Museum of Leathercraft.
