Description

Any Health and Life Sciences student can rent a locker, subject to availability.

The lockers are in the Hawthorn building on floors LG, 1 and 2.
Rental is for 1 standard academic year. Please see the terms and conditions of rental below for specific rental period dates.

 

Detailed Description

Health and Life Science students pay £20 online to rent a locker for one standard Academic Year.

Please note that they are on a first come first served basis.

Once online payment has been made the locker key will be available for collection from the Student Advice Centre during opening hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm (Mon – Thurs)3:30pm (Fri).

Terms and conditions of rental

  1. A refundable deposit of £20 is required. Your refund will be processed once the rental period has finished at the end of the Academic Year, your key has been returned or renewed and lockers have been checked.

 

  1. Locker rentals are required for each academic year, with keys due back in the first week of June each year unless arranged in advance via the Student Advice Centre.

 

  1. Numbered tags must be retained with the key. If not returned with the key the locker cannot be identified, and the deposit will not be refunded.

 

  1. Locker rental is strictly limited to one per student. Any attempt to rent multiple lockers will result in the rental being cancelled.

 

  1. Only personal belongings are permitted in the lockers. (No glass, syringes, pipettes, chemicals etc, or any items which may be considered inappropriate.)

 

  1. Locker use will be monitored on a regular basis, without notice, for the purposes of security, maintenance and repair, and for any other purpose considered essential. The University reserves the right to open your locker without notice, in the presence of two or more members of University staff.

 

  1. If lockers are being shared, used for inappropriate items or are unclean, the locker will be removed and key recalled.

 

  1. Key holders are responsible for ensuring lockers are left in a clean condition after use.

 

  1. The University shall have no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage suffered to your personal belongings placed in the locker for any reason whatsoever, at any time.

 

  1. If you lose your locker key, you will have to pay £20 for a replacement key.

 

  1. The lockers, and keys, remain the property of DMU throughout the rental period.

 

  1. Anything left in the locker at the end of the rental term will be retained for a period of 28 days, after which time the University reserves the right to dispose of the item.
